At George M. Eisenberg Foundation for Charities, we strive to carry on the philanthropic wishes of the late George M. Eisenberg. George focused his generosity in the areas of the underprivileged sick, hungry and homeless in the Chicago metropolitan area. The Foundation continues in this tradition by awarding grant requests to charities that directly align with these areas of passion for George.
George M. Eisenberg was born in 1899 in Chicago. He grew up knowing hunger, the streets, and poverty. He was fortunate to be able to start a business that grew into a multimillion corporation. Living modestly, George gave millions of dollars a year to charity, usually under anonymous terms. Upon George's passing, a foundation was started in his name to carry on his philanthropic legacy.
